Dr Kaiyu Lei, Trustee and Deputy Chair of YanFu Foundation attended the 19th annual meeting of the Chinese Life Scientists Society (CLSS) in Oxford, UK. The meeting was held at the University of Oxford on 20th and 21st September 2013. There were more than a hundred Chinese Life Scientists and students attending this meeting. A wide range of topics were covered this year, from the basic scientific research to translational and clinical studies. This meeting began with two very inspiring opening speeches given by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Oxford and the Minister Counsellor for Education of the Chinese Embassy. They both emphasised that the aim of the conference is to encourage distinguished researchers with different areas of expertise in life sciences in China and the UK, to exchange ideas and establish collaborations.
Dr Kaiyu Lei presented his recent research at the Imperial College and also introduced his works at YanFu Foundation. His presentation was a great success and was awarded as one of the best oral presentations. Dr Kaiyu Lei looks forward to next year’s CLSS gathering and is determined to work more on promoting collaboration between China and the UK in the field of life science. This is also one of the key missions of YanFu foundation.
